About

Keep@Downsview is a collaboration of the University of Toronto, McMaster University, the University of Ottawa, Queen's University, Western University, and Memorial University to preserve library items in a shared high-density storage facility located at the University of Toronto's Downsview campus and carefully managed for optimal temperature and humidity conditions. Begun in 2014, this program preserves and maintains valuable collections built over time, ensuring that these resources will be available for generations to come.

There is widespread adoption of shared print initiatives across research libraries in North America and beyond. Keep@Downsview contributes to national and international efforts to preserve the scholarly record through memberships in: North/Nord: The Canadian Shared Print Network, the Shared Print Partnership, HathiTrust and others.

The Keep@Downsview facility was funded initially, in part, through the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities Productivity and Innovation Fund.

Details of our collaboration are available in the Memorandum of Agreement.
